Barry was the planned titular protagonist of the cancelled Railway Series book Barry the Rescue Engine.
Biography[]
Barry was sent to Barry island to be scrapped. He was however he was saved from scrap. He would be sent to Sodor. It is unknown what he would have done after woods.
Appearance[]
While he was never illustrated, he was said to be based on the LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-2T Tank Engine. It is unknown what colours his livery would have been.

- He was named Barry because he was sent to Barry Island.
- Christopher Audrey was going to write a book for Barry however the book was cancelled as he thought that the public only wanted more stories about Thomas and his friends.
- While Barry would never become a canon character, in the TV Series there would be a character introduced named Arthur who has the same basis as Barry.
